1. Scope & General Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application ScrollPic ("Application", "Software", "We", "Us", or "Our"). This policy governs the privacy practices surrounding your access to and use of our mobile software applications across Apple iOS, Google Android, and associated digital services.
We strictly adhere to a fundamental privacy ethos: Your media belongs to you, and your media stays on your device. By downloading, installing, or using ScrollPic, you acknowledge the local data processing practices described in this policy.
2. 100% On-Device Local Processing Guarantee
The Application is engineered on an architecture of complete data isolation. All core utility operations—including gallery scrolling, Smart Filter library scans, EXIF metadata extraction and stripping, image compression, format conversion (JPEG, PNG, WebP), batch media processing, and album management—execute 100% locally on your device's native hardware and memory.
We do not operate remote application servers for photo processing, nor do we upload, transmit, store, back up, sync, analyze, or mirror any of your photos, videos, file names, EXIF camera tags, or GPS coordinates to external servers or cloud environments.
3. App Store & Google Play Privacy Nutrition Label
In accordance with Apple App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels and Google Play Safety Section disclosures:
- Data Used to Track You: None (0 Data Types).
- Data Linked to You: None (0 Data Types).
- Data Collected or Uploaded: None (0 Data Types).
- Analytics & Store Telemetry: We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixels, Facebook SDKs, IDFA ad trackers, or third-party web cookies. Store purchase telemetry is handled exclusively via Apple App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and RevenueCat for subscription management.
4. Data Categories Accessed Locally
To provide media organization and optimization functions, the Application accesses specific data categories strictly within your local device memory during active sessions:
- Media Assets: Digital images, photo thumbnails, live photos, and video recordings stored in your device Camera Roll or gallery.
- EXIF Camera Metadata: Embedded technical information including camera manufacturer, device model, aperture, shutter speed, ISO rating, creation date/time, and GPS location coordinates.
- Device & Storage Metrics: Available device storage capacity, memory usage, screen dimensions, and mobile operating system version (used to optimize local rendering performance).
None of the data categories listed above are transmitted outside your physical mobile hardware.
5. Operating System Permissions & User Control
The Application requires operating system permissions to access your media library. These permissions are requested through native system popups governed by Apple iOS and Google Android:
- Read Photo Library Permission: Required to display media items locally within scrolling feeds and filter lists.
- Write / Modify Photo Library Permission: Required to save user-requested clean copies, compressed images, converted file formats, and present system deletion prompts.
You retain absolute control over these permissions and may modify or revoke access at any time through your device's system settings menu.
6. Zero Third-Party Data Selling or Advertising Trackers
In full compliance with international privacy mandates (including CCPA/CPRA and EU GDPR):
- We do not sell, rent, monetize, trade, or transfer any user data or media content to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers.
- We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs, social media tracking pixels, IDFA cross-app identifiers, or ad profiling software. Store telemetry and purchase analytics are handled strictly through Apple App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and RevenueCat for subscription validation.
7. Payment & In-App Purchase Analytics
Subscriptions ($4.99/week or $14.99/month) and free trial registrations are processed through third-party mobile storefront operators and managed via RevenueCat:
- Apple App Store & Google Play Store Analytics: Payments are processed directly by Apple Inc. and Google LLC. We receive aggregated, non-personally identifiable developer dashboard analytics (such as total app installs, regional download counts, revenue totals, and crash reports) via Apple App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
- RevenueCat Subscription Analytics: We use RevenueCat to validate active subscription entitlement and track anonymous purchase lifecycle telemetry (such as trial activations, subscription renewals, and cancellations). RevenueCat receives zero personal photos, media files, or user identity details.
We do not receive, collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, banking credentials, or billing addresses. All financial transactions are secured directly by Apple or Google.
8. Data Retention & Deletion Mechanics
Because ScrollPic does not store user media on external servers, there is zero server-side retention of your content. Media deletion within the Application operates as follows:
- When you choose to delete photos or videos, the Application sends a request to your mobile operating system.
- Your device presents a native OS system deletion dialog requiring your explicit confirmation.
- Once approved, your operating system handles the local file deletion or moves the media item to your device's native "Recently Deleted" album according to OS rules.
9. Local Security & Device Isolation
The Application relies on native operating system sandboxing protocols enforced by iOS and Android to prevent unauthorized access to your media files from other applications. We recommend keeping your mobile device updated with the latest system security patches and securing your phone with a passcode, Face ID, or biometric lock.
10. Children's Privacy Compliance (COPPA & GDPR)
The Application is designed as a privacy-safe general utility. We comply strictly with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Article 8 of the GDPR. Because the Application collects zero personal information, we do not knowingly solicit, harvest, or store personal identifiers from children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in applicable European jurisdictions).
11. International User Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions hold specific rights regarding personal data. Because ScrollPic operates on a 100% local, zero-server architecture, your data rights (including rights of access, erasure, portability, and restriction) are inherently satisfied because no personal data ever leaves your control or device.
12. Modifications to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to revise or update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological changes, regulatory updates, or app feature enhancements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". Continued use of the Application after revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Contact Information & Legal Inquiries
If you have any questions, concerns, or legal inquiries regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at support@scrollpic.app.
14. Digital Accessibility Statement (ADA & WCAG 2.1 AA)
We are committed to digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities. We actively design, test, and optimize our mobile software and website to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Key accessibility implementations include screen-reader compatible label tags (VoiceOver / TalkBack), high-contrast visual themes, keyboard navigation support, and scalable dynamic text sizes.
